Gere
Flick
Baritone
Gere is our resident Yankee, having performed in church
choirs for 52 years. Gere's singing career started at the age
of 8 in a men and boys choir in New Jersey. The choir performed
on the Ed Sullivan show in the 50's. Gere is married to Carol, his
wife of 38 years. He has three children: John, a lawyer practicing
in Massachusetts; Jamie, the real vocalist in the family who is
studying for a Masters of Music in voice and choral conducting;
and Jennifer, a proud at-home mom. Gere and Carol are both members
of the Chancel Choir at Morris Memorial United Methodist Church
in Charleston, WV.

Ron
Brooks
Lead
Was the lead
singer for R & B Group, the Montereys, with several records
on the Dominion label in the 60's. Married to wife Kay, Ron has
one daughter, Temple, who is an actress with two movies to her
credit. Ron is a member of the Chancel Choir at Morris Memorial
United Methodist Church in Charleston, WV, and is currently recording
with D & R Studios as a member of the Brothers in the Cross
Gospel Quartet.

Jim
Kautz
Bass
Native of Charleston's West Side, Jim first became
interested in music in elementary school band. He continued as
a trumpet player throughout Junior and Senior High School. Returning
to music in the Chancel Choir at Bream Memorial Presbyterian Church
in 1981, Jim embraced choral music at Bream and later at Morris
Memorial United Methodist as a Chancel Choir and Praise Band Member.
Jim is married to the former Ann Singleton of Charleston and
enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time.

Larry
White
Tenor
Larry
has been the Minister of Music at Morris Memorial United Methodist
Church in Charleston, WV for over 20 years. Larry and his wife
Kathy have three children Michelle, Candice, and Jonathan who
are also active in the church. He sang with his wife Kathy,
in a gospel group called New
Vision for 22 years and with another group called Young Inspirations
for about 6 years. A few years ago he assembled a new group from
his church choir (Ron, Gere, and Jim) and the Brothers in the Cross
was formed. He has written all the music on their first CD and
gives God all the credit.

Rick
White
Bass
Guitarist and Recording Engineer
Rick played bass for a gospel group called
New Vision for 15 years and has played for Brothers in the Cross
since they formed. His passion however is recording, which he has
been doing for the past seven years. Three years ago when he and
his wife Deborah built a new home, they turned part of the basement
into a home recording studio called D&R (Deborah and Rick).
He is also the sound technician for Morris Memorial United Methodist
Church in Charleston. Rick, his wife Deborah, her daughter Danielle
and their dog Dazy Mae, live in Charleston.
